Lock Washers (Split or Spring Washers) are helical coils designed to prevent fastener loosening caused by vibration, thermal cycling, and dynamic loads. Upon tightening, the split ends of the washer bite into the mating surfaces (the nut and the substrate), while the helical shape acts as a compressed spring to maintain preload tension on the assembly. Unlike standard steel washers that lose their temper and flatten permanently under high heat, our Inconel Lock Washers are manufactured from precipitation-hardened alloys like Inconel X-750 and Inconel 718. These grades retain their modulus of elasticity (spring properties) even at temperatures exceeding 600°C, making them indispensable for securing turbine casings, exhaust manifolds, and high-pressure pumps. We manufacture these to DIN 127, ASME B18.21.1, and DIN 7980 standards.
